We are a French-Luxembourgish and Italian-Portuguese couple based in Paris. We met in Montmartre through a dating app, over coffee and a burst of laughter. One of those chance encounters that changes a life. From that moment, The Wild Strawberry was born in 2021, an artistic and bespoke approach designed to tell love stories like cinema, inspired by the kind of wedding experience we would have dreamed of for our own day.
Before The Wild Strawberry, Marisa was a painter and animation artist. She worked in animated films and special effects for French and international studios, with projects selected at the Cannes Film Festival and screened at festivals around the world. Ghislain is a self-taught photographer with more than ten years of experience in the wedding world. Together, we create memories where reality blends with fiction to craft true cinematic works.
Our approach is warm and immersive. We love working closely with our couples, capturing spontaneous moments with imagination and sensitivity. That is where iconic and timeless images are born, photographs and films designed to tell love with an artistic and modern point of view.
We are epicureans and travelers, fascinated by analog vibes, vintage lenses, and artisanal craft. We celebrate the beauty of materials and the stories that people and objects carry with them. Dreamers, explorers, and lovers of strong aesthetics, we draw inspiration from everything around us to give each couple a narrative that is unique and deeply personal.
Every year, strawberry season arrives at the same time as wedding season. The light softens, the days stretch out, and everything falls into place to tell stories of love. It’s the moment when everything feels most alive, when nature and emotions mirror each other.
The Meaning Behind the Name “The Wild Strawberry”
The Wild Strawberry was born from a color. A Pantone shade between red and pink, soft yet vibrant, carrying a blend of innocence, sensuality and poetry. It evokes the fruit that inspires it, delicate yet radiant, tender yet untamable. This contrast lies at the heart of what we love to express in our images.
Strawberries have always followed the rhythm of weddings. They return at the end of spring, just as unions begin, when summer evenings settle in and the cities come alive. In June, the Strawberry Moon has long been a symbol of celebration, abundance, love and promise. It is a moment that invites people to gather, to create and to live fully.
Speaking of the solstice is part of our story. The Wild Strawberry was born on June 21, 2021, on the evening of the Fête de la Musique, in an urban atmosphere buzzing with life, sound and magnetic energy. Paris was vibrating, the streets were alive, voices blended with instruments. That modern, spontaneous energy shaped the spirit of the brand as much as its name.
On a botanical level, the strawberry is a perfect metaphor for our approach. It is a hybrid flower born from both the wild and the cultivated, a fruit unlike any other, unique and nearly impossible to define. It holds instinct and intention, the natural and the crafted, like a memory you create without ever wanting to freeze it.
In some stories, it is the fruit of Eden, associated not with danger but with curiosity, passion and gentle temptation. In eighteenth century France, it was served at weddings in wine or champagne soup, a sensual and festive gesture meant to celebrate love.
Science confirms its link to emotional memory. Strawberry aromas directly activate the parts of the brain that record meaningful memories, the ones that return unexpectedly.
All of this is where The Wild Strawberry finds its meaning. An identity that blends innocence, sensuality, poetry, pleasure and the singular energy of warm summer nights. Our only hope is to create images that leave a trace as vivid and lasting as a perfume you could recognize among thousands.
